Chaminda Vaas is about to continue because of the fast bowling consultant of Sri Lanka after patching up with the board. the previous fast bowler had announced his resignation just three days after taking over the role, and right before Sri Lanka’s departure for his or her ongoing tour within the Caribbean.
However, Sri Lanka Cricket stated that things had been “amicably resolved”.
“Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to tell you that under a gathering that was held between Mr. Chaminda Vaas and therefore the Management Team of Sri Lanka Cricket, the matters which led to his resignation were amicably resolved.
Mr. Vaas withdrew his submitted Letter of Resignation and agreed to continue because the Fast Bowling Consultant to Sri Lanka Cricket, the position which he held before his resignation,” read a press release from SLC.
Vaas and SLC had voiced their disagreements publicly at the time of Vaas’ resignation in February. While SLC had said during a statement that Vaas was “holding the administration, the cricketers, and indeed the sport at ransom” by announcing his resignation, the previous pacer had put out a tweet that read, “I made a humble request to SLC and that they turned it down. That’s all I can say at the instant. Justice will prevail!”
Sri Lanka’s ongoing tour within the West Indies ends on April 2nd after which they’re scheduled to host Bangladesh for 2 Tests beginning on April 21.
