Iyer was taken for a scan after an injury to his left shoulder

India batsman Shreyas Iyer injured his left shoulder while fielding within the eighth over within the first ODI in Pune, and has been taken for further scans. He won’t be taking further part in the game.

According to the BCCI, Iyer “subluxated his left shoulder” while trying to prevent a boundary from Jonny Bairstow. The 26-year-old dived to his left and reached a bent stop a brief and wide ball hit hard through the covers. While he managed to prevent a few runs, he was soon in pain and had to go away from the sector, holding his left shoulder.

Rohit Sharma is another player who won’t take any longer part within the first ODI, BCCI informed. The India opener was hit on the proper elbow while batting by a 148 kph ball from Mark Wood and experienced some pain later.
