Thomas Tuchel is going to be handed a £200m transfer budget this summer after steering Chelsea to Champions League success, consistent with reports.

Tuchel was appointed as Frank Lampard’s replacement in January and did a powerful job in his first half-season at the helm.

As well as guiding Chelsea to the FA final and a top-four finish within the Premier League, Tuchel led the club to European glory.

The Blues fully deserved their 1-0 victory over Manchester City within the Champions League final on Saturday.

And the club has wasted little time in starting its recruitment drive before next term when Chelsea will hope to challenge for the Premier League title.

Romelu Lukaku has been heavily linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, where reinforcements in defense, midfield, and upfront are being sought.

According to the Metro, Tuchel is going to be given up to £200m to spend on new signings within the coming months.

Chelsea splashed the cash last summer, bringing within the likes of Timo Werner, Edouard Mendy, Kai Havertz, and Ben Chilwell for a combined £226m.

And Roman Abramovich is once more willing to place his hand in his pocket following Tuchel’s terrific work so far.

The Chelsea boss is keen to sign a minimum of three players together with his budget, the report states, with Declan Rice and Adama Traore also mentioned as possible targets.

“Two or three [new signings] might be very, very good,” Tuchel said. “It’s a continuing thing to never deny change.

“That you usually bring new energy, new guys who question the old beliefs, who challenge everybody within the training and in matches, so I feel it’s an honest thing.”

The German is additionally expected to place pen to paper on a contract extension within the next few days, together with his current deal only running until 2022.

Tuchel is merely the second manager to steer Chelsea to Champions League glory, after Roberto Di Matteo in 2012.
